i would like temporary dimensions to measure wall faces but changing Settings > Temporary Dimensions to Faces doesn't stop those dimensions from measuring wall centers..
does anyone know why?

Create a new wall by picking existing lines (interior finished face of an existing wall) and using the offset option in conjunction with place the new wall with the setting for Loc. Line to be Finish Face interior.
