Turn off/on the grey background of a FIELD

The visual difference between a FIELD and MTEXT or DTEXT is the grey background mask that automatically appears behind the text. The grey background mask does not print. It is just an indicator for the user. If you find this grey background mask annoying, you can turn this off by using the FIELDDISPLAY system variable.

On the command line type FIELDDISPLAY:

<0> Turn off grey background mask

<1> Turn on grey background mask.

The default value is <1>.

any idea of the Registry key concerned??
autodesk is very poor for not documenting this little detail on all registry-stored variables.
let's inbvestigate how to Change the grey background color, eh?
the grey shade is very useful, but hard to read, depending, of course, on how you are displaying the text style of your field.
